Physicians

M.D.s or D.O.s who want to make a difference in the life of the uninsured in Montgomery County can do so by volunteering once per quarter for an evening clinic.

6–9:00 p.m.

Front desk volunteers

Volunteers are needed to operate the front desk during clinic hours, greeting patients and inputting information into the computer database.

5–9:00 p.m.

First- and second-year medical students

First- and second-year medical students volunteer in our medical clinics assisting nurses with triage and “shadowing” physicians. (Monday and Wednesday)

5–9:00 p.m.

Third- and fourth-year medical students

Third- and fourth-year medical students volunteer in our physician clinics assisting physicians with physical appointments. (Thursday)

5–9:00 p.m.

Nurse practitioners

Volunteer nurse practitioners are needed to contribute their expertise in our evening medical clinics.

5–9:00 p.m.

Office volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help in the administrative office any time during office hours.

9:00 a.m.–
4:00 p.m.

Pharmacists

Volunteer pharmacists with a minimum of R.Ph. are needed during clinic hours to dispense medications to patients following the Reach Out formulary guidelines.

6–9:00 p.m.

Registered nurses

Volunteer nurses with a minimum of R.N. are needed during clinic hours to assist physicians with the healthcare needs of our uninsured patients.

5–9:00 p.m.

Specialists

Physicians are needed that are unable to volunteer in the Reach Out evening clinics but are interested in supporting the uninsured. Patients may be seen in physicians' offices during regular hours at a reduced cost or at no cost to the patient.

 

Translators

Volunteers needed to translate for patients speaking foreign languages. Volunteers will assist with filling out paperwork for patients and interpreting between doctor and patient.
